We’re half-way there!

A note to all of our supporters

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to The Small Things Summer Campaign!

We have boundless gratitude for all of the support, the encouragement and the love we have received thus far. It’s inspiring to be part of such a strong global community–all unified by the belief that small actions can produce big impact.

To give you an update on our progress…

We’ve hit our mid-way funding goal, and have shifted focus to support the opening of Nkoaranga Community Building. This facility, adjacent to the Children’s Village, will house a variety of workshops for the public on preventative health care, sexual education, and business management–all subject areas not typically covered or accessible via local school curricula.

Art, music, jewelry-craft classes and social enterprise projects will also be hosted in this space. We aim to encourage the individuals of Nkoaranga to pursue passions that can support their growth on both a financial and personal level. The children we work with are talented and together we will do all that we can to further develop their natural creativity.

Further, this mecca of education will be outfitted with a need-based day-care and Nkoaranga’s first ever library! We’re very excited at the prospect of introducing an inaugural book borrowing system, and the village is eager as well! With your support, Nkoaranga will soon have access to a bevy of new information and possibility. And possibility is powerful. It expands our dreams. And it inspires us to reach for more.

As always, it’s important to remember that the families and children we work with do not need prescriptive assistance–they have defined dreams and the necessary drive to achieve these dreams. They just need an opportunity. Everyone deserves a chance to create a life that personally satisfies them–one that reflects who they are and what they value. And thanks to you, the families and children of Nkoaranga will receive this chance.

The success of this building is a product of your generosity and we ask for your assistance to help us reach that final goal! We truly believe that, together, even the smallest local initiatives have the power to impact the lives of an entire community.

And don’t forget! Our summer campaign continues to double your donations through our matching challenge as proof of our commitment to the cause! We’d also be happy to send you a fundraising kit with fold-able donation boxes, brochures, postcards and a poster if you’d like to host your own event! Just take a look at what one of our former volunteers has done for a little inspiration!

Our supporters around the world are truly amazing and continue to drive this campaign forward. Thanks to your efforts, we’ve already been able to make some immediate changes here on the ground with the funds that have come through!

YES! With the money that you’ve raised thus far, we have purchased a bus for our children! Some first bus ride excitement is captured above. Thanks to YOU, the children continue to grow and receive the education and support they deserve.

Let’s continue this momentum into the second half of our campaign as we work to change the lives of the children and family of Nkoaranga! Thank you again for all of your dedication and care—we’re half-way there.

Let’s do this!
